Sharp Station – Terms & Conditions

Service Area: Within 20 miles of Burntwood and Lichfield - Staffordshire

1. About Sharp Station

Sharp Station provides professional knife sharpening and related blade services to commercial kitchens and individuals. Services are delivered by appointment only, either on-site or by prior arrangement.

2. Service Area

Sharp Station operates exclusively within 20 miles of Burntwood, Staffordshire.
Requests outside this area may be declined or quoted separately.

3. Appointments & Booking

  • All services must be pre-booked.

  • Sharp Station does not offer walk-in services.

  • Appointments are scheduled to minimise disruption to kitchen prep and service times.

  • Availability is limited as Sharp Station operates alongside a professional kitchen role.

Same-day or emergency appointments are not guaranteed.

4. Ad-Hoc (One-Off) Sharpening Services

  • Ad-hoc services are charged at published rates.

  • Prices apply to standard kitchen knives only.

  • Additional work (repairs, thinning, broken tips, heavy damage) may incur extra charges and will be discussed before work begins.

  • Payment is due on completion of service, unless otherwise agreed.

5. Subscription Services

  • Subscription plans provide regular, scheduled sharpening services at a fixed monthly rate.

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance.

  • Each plan includes a defined number of visits and knives per month.

  • Unused visits or knife allowances do not roll over.

Subscriptions are subject to availability and may be capped to maintain service quality.

6. Scheduling for Subscriptions

  • Subscription clients are allocated recurring appointment slots where possible.

  • Changes to scheduled times require reasonable notice and are subject to availability.

  • Sharp Station does not guarantee emergency or out-of-schedule visits for subscription clients.

7. Cancellations & Missed Appointments

  • At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • Late cancellations or missed appointments may result in:

    • Loss of that visit, or

    • A partial charge.

  • Repeated missed appointments may lead to review or termination of subscription services.

8. Pausing or Cancelling Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions operate on a rolling monthly basis.

  • A minimum of 30 days’ notice is required to cancel a subscription.

  • Subscriptions may be paused for one month per calendar year with prior notice.

  • No refunds are issued for part-used billing periods.

9. Knife Condition & Liability

  • Knives are sharpened based on their existing condition.

  • Sharp Station is not responsible for:

    • Pre-existing cracks, excessive wear, or structural weaknesses

    • Damage caused by previous sharpening, misuse, or poor storage

  • All sharpening is carried out using professional methods designed to protect blade integrity.

Liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.

10. Safety & Responsibility

  • Sharpened knives are extremely sharp.

  • Clients are responsible for safe handling, storage, and use of knives after service.

  • Sharp Station accepts no liability for injuries resulting from improper handling post-service.

11. Right to Refuse Service

Sharp Station reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if:

  • Working conditions are unsafe

  • Behaviour is abusive or inappropriate

  • Knives are deemed unsafe to sharpen

12. Pricing Changes

Sharp Station reserves the right to:

  • Adjust pricing with reasonable notice

  • Modify service offerings

  • Limit the number of active subscriptions

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
